DESCRIPTION:  \nLecturer:  Nick Sacco\, Historian and Curator\, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site \nDate:  May 13th\, Wednesday at 6:00 PM \nLocation:  Landmarks Office\, 1805 S. 9th Street\, Saint Louis\, MO 63104 \nSynopsis:  An exploration of pre-Civil War St. Louis through the daguerreotype photographs of Thomas Easterly that are housed at the Missouri Historical Society. No other photographer in St. Louis captured the city’s built landscape of the 1840s and 1850s quite like Easterly. \nBio:  Nick Sacco is the Historian and Curator at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site\, a unit of the National Park Service in South St. Louis County. He has worked at the park for ten years and has also worked temporary assignments at Gateway Arch National Park\, Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park\, and Reconstruction Era National Historical Park. He has had several book chapters and journal articles published\, including an article about Ulysses S. Grant’s relationship with slavery that was published with The Journal of the Civil War Era in 2019.
