On August 6th, 2026, the National Association of Realtors published an article written by Barbara Ballinger detailing the history and quality of the historic Soulard neighborhood as part of their “The American Dream at 250” series. In their coverage, they interviewed longtime Landmarks collaborator Maureen McMillan — a St. Louis-based historic consultant and board member of the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation (Missouri Preservation) — as she walked through the office and courtyard of the Landmarks Hesch House at 1805 S. 9th Street. Many shots capture the unique quality of our buildings’ hand-pressed bricks and hand-carved limestone from the early-to-mid 1800s.
A big thank you to the National Association of Realtors for featuring our building and one of St. Louis’ historic neighborhoods in their series! Your spotlight helps us preserve our built environment and cultural legacy.
