On May 17, 2025, the Soulard Restoration Group recognized Landmarks Association of St. Louis with its annual Historical Award. The award was presented to our Board President, Jean Webb, during the SRG’s 50th anniversary celebration by Neil &Veronica Putz in honor of Landmarks’ historic rehabilitation of our Soulard office building as well as our ongoing role in safeguarding the architectural legacy of one of St. Louis’ most storied neighborhoods.

SRG Historical Award presented to Landmarks Association of Saint Louis
The commemorative plaque reads:
“Historical Award presented to Landmarks Association of Saint Louis for its past and continuing contributions to the preservation of Soulard’s architecture and history, with heartfelt thanks from a grateful community.”
This recognition is especially meaningful as our office serves not only as a home base for staff and volunteers, but also as a living example of the preservation ethic we advocate across the city. The rehabilitation project restored the building’s architectural character while ensuring its continued use for decades to come.
For nearly sixty years, Landmarks has worked to protect St. Louis’ historic architecture, from neighborhood landmarks to citywide heritage sites. Receiving this award from one of St. Louis’ most active neighborhood organizations affirms that our work is felt not just on the skyline, but in the daily lives of the communities we serve.
The evening’s festivities, held at the Franklin Room, marked a major milestone for the Soulard Restoration Group and included the presentation of several community awards. Landmarks is honored to have been included in this special celebration, and we extend our gratitude to the SRG for their continued dedication to preserving Soulard’s cultural and architectural heritage.
