Synopsis: Ms. Green’s presentation will illustrate the timeless quality and distinctive charm of the historic William B. Ittner schools that exist in the city of St. Louis and beyond. Her exhibit of photography and background stories of Mr. Ittner’s years as school architect add depth and personal examples to the legacy many of us are already familiar with today. She will itemize his thoughtful ideas that led to enormous feats in school construction one hundred thirty years ago and highlight the beautiful buildings that resulted from these innovations, leaving us with many structures still standing and beloved memories, all these decades later.
Bio: Carolyn K. Green is a partner with BRS Architects, LLP in St. Louis and has long been a follower of the Wm. B. Ittner collection of school buildings. She was employed as an architect for the firm of Wm. B. Ittner, Inc. over a period of fifteen years and assisted with historical exhibits and archivist projects throughout that time. She continues to give presentations on the history of Wm. B. Ittner schools to interested audiences when opportunities arise.
