STL Heart Bomb 2026
February 7 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
FreeShow some love for the DeBaliviere Building and the DeBaliviere Powerhouse
It’s that time of year again! Join us for STL Heart Bomb, our annual community event celebrating St. Louis’s built environment. This year, we’re focusing on two unique buildings at the corner of DeBaliviere and Delmar.
Featured Buildings:
- The DeBaliviere Building (5654 Delmar Blvd.)
Completed in 1928, this striking Mayan Art Deco building was designed by architect Isadore Shank and remains a notable architectural presence along Delmar. - The DeBaliviere Streetcar Powerhouse (5700 DeBaliviere Ave.)
Built in 1902 as part of a larger complex, the powerhouse supplied electricity for St. Louis’s streetcar system, including lines serving the 1904 World’s Fair.
What to Expect:
STL Heart Bomb is a hands-on community event where participants make valentines for buildings—from well-loved landmarks to places at risk due to neglect—learn about their history and visit the sites to share a visible show of care and support.
Participants will gather at Grace Fellowship to craft valentines, learn more about the buildings’ history, and then we’ll walk to the DeBaliviere Buildings to pose with their creations. Crafting supplies are provided.
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM – Valentine crafting
- 11:00 AM – Presentation on the DeBaliviere Buildings
- 12:00 PM – Walk to the buildings for photos
Where to Meet:
Grace Fellowship, 5574 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112
Entrance to the building is on Clara Ave. Parking is on both sides of Clara Ave. or Delmar Blvd.
