SUMMARY:Savor the Past\, Celebrate the Future (2026)
DESCRIPTION:For more than six decades\, the Landmarks Association of St. Louis has celebrated individuals and organizations whose dedication safeguards our city’s architectural heritage. \nDuring this year’s event\, we will honor Guy Slay with the prestigious H. Meade Summers\, Jr. Award\, recognizing his lifetime contributions to preservation and revitalization of St. Louis’s historic architecture\, as well as 4theVille\, a community-driven organization whose work in the Ville neighborhood exemplifies the transformative power of preservation-led revitalization\, with the Visionary Award. \n———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— \nDate: Saturday\, October 10th\nTime: 6:00 – 9:00 PM\nLocation: La Verona at the Marketplace\nTickets: $150 \n———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— \nH. Meade Summers\, Jr. Award\nEstablished in 2009 and named for its first recipient—renowned preservationist Meade Summers\, Jr.—this award recognizes lifetime contributions to preserving Missouri’s history and cultural resources. Recipients have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting landmarks that define our region. This year’s recipient\, Guy Slay\, founder and principal of Mangrove LLC\, has been a pioneer in restoring high-impact historic buildings in the City of St. Louis\, creating dozens of residential units and vibrant commercial spaces. Mangrove’s projects have served as a catalyst for further investment in the Grove\, Forest Park Southeast\, Academy and Visitation Park. Guy was instrumental in working with community partners to expand the neighborhood historic district in Forest Park Southeast. \nVisionary Award\nIntroduced last year\, the Visionary Award honors active preservationists whose leadership and creativity have transformed historic spaces for modern use while retaining their character. This year’s recipient\, 4theVille\, is a community-driven organization whose work in the Ville neighborhood exemplifies the transformative power of preservation-led revitalization. Accepting the award will be the organization’s three co-founders: Aaron Williams\, Julia Allen\, and Thomasina Clarke. \n———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— \nInterested in becoming a sponsor? Check out our SPONSOR LEVELS or email us: office@landmarks-stl.org \n———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— \nCan’t make the event? Please consider becoming a member or making a donation in honor of Robert & Stephen O’Loughlin to support our cause. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. \nAll proceeds further Landmarks Association of St. Louis’ mission of preserving\, enhancing\, and promoting St. Louis’ architectural heritage. We are grateful for our supporters and members who help us achieve our mission.
